Peer Review Process

Reviewing procedure in Acta Scientiarum Polonorum series Agricultura

Manuscript reviewing procedure agrees with the recommendations of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education described, among others, in the brochure “Good practice in reviewing procedures in science”, Warsaw 2011.
The authors, when sending a manuscript for publication, agree to the reviewing process. The submitted manuscripts undergo the formal assessment of the editorial office, and subsequently are reviewed by two reliable reviewers, who are not members of the editorial office and are not employed by the unit that issues the journal. The submitted manuscripts are never sent to the reviewers employed by the same institution from which at least one of the authors comes. The reviewer signs a declaration of non-existence of conflict of interest and an obligation of not using the knowledge on the subject of the manuscript before its publication. In the case of manuscripts written in a foreign language, at least one of the reviewers is affiliated by a foreign institution other than the author’s nationality. Manuscripts are reviewed confidentially and anonymously (the so-called “double-blind review process”). The reviewer may not be the author of a manuscript in the issue for which he or she prepares the review. The author is informed about the result of the conducted review and receives two reviews for inspection, and then it is possible to correspond with the editorial office about the possible comments.
List of the cooperating reviewers is published once a year, in the fourth issue.
